The other day when I was cleaning up the house for the BIG Christmas Party we have each year, I found my old slam book!! I was all excited and in my excitement sat down to read stuff written by friends…in the book…and forgot all about cleaning for hours! This book was from school days…rather school was just coming to an end. I was in my last year (12th) and of course this book was to preserve memories. I’ve lost touch with most of the people in the book…but some I still am in touch with. The last entry is Rajiv’s (and I was well into my second year of grad then). What amused me is to read about how we thought back then and how much we’ve changed in these last many years…that was my last slam book btw. I have 3 more before that (one when I passed my 10th) and even before.
It always started out with my entry…my thots, my feelings, favourites and had typical questions like “what’s ur ideal man / ideal woman like”, “idea of luv” … “of frenship”, “of life”…etc etc etc!! And then all my frenz had to list out theirs.
Reading some of the stuff had me in splits…and some left me with that “Goddd I misss those days feeling”…

Life is … to live, love & laugh!! Life comes once & I prefer to live it to the hilt rather than figure it out!!
Idea of Beauty … Physical beauty is superficial…beauty lies in the eyes of the beholder. I believe that anything, any thought / action & most importantly ANYONE who makes me happy is BEAUTIFUL…truly lovable
Friendship is … what I live for & live by… on a more serious note, it’s the best gift to us…and we should make the most of it.
Enmity is … something I have yet to experience in true filmi style!!! Serious waste of time….

Ideal guy: whewww….tough one!!! One a scale of 1 to 3….1 wld be a guy who’s incredibly romantic, 2 wld be sumone who can treat me real special and 3 wld be sumone wld a sense of humour… looks don’t count so long as he is appealing to me!!
Ideal Girl: Me??! Nooo coz my ideal girl is better looking (better than me anyway), more independent & can make up her own mind. A girl who luvs to smile.
Idea of luv … is tooo complex & long to fit in here! Love is hating the word goodbye…love is heaven in his arms! Love is beginning every sentence with his name….luvvv is in his smile…his voice…his eyes…when he’s with me!
Idea of perfect happiness: refer to my idea of love! (a world without exams!!)
Aim in Life: I want a dinner date with tom cruise … luvv to stand atop the Sears tower! (Ps: wanna lead a happy life!)
Greatest Fear: Failure – I know failure leads to success etc etc. But I can’t cope with the hurt and demoralization ever.
Greatest Regret: None yet. Then again I wish were Drop Dead Gorgeous!!!
What I hate most about myself: My indecisiveness.
Love of my life: my passion for life… family, friends and I luvvv to luvvv. Roses!
I was happiest when: I met my brother after 6 long years. 1st kiss! (and they’re completely different emotions!...but happy!)

That’s about it. It’s interesting to note that essentially a lot of things haven’t changed…though yes, quite a lot has happened over the years since then and I have different views on certain aspects above… and now when I read it all, I know just how much life has taught me since then.
I went through other blogs talking about the past year…I thought it better to pick up any one particular year from the past and finding my slam book proved to be a blessing in disguise. Memories are so precious … to have them in words and in the handwriting of people who I shared these memories with … is even more precious. I’m planning to write out e-mails to those I’m still in touch with and send them their thoughts…their memories…that’s my gift for this New Year. A walk down that old familiar lane!:-)
