Well did u??...coz we missed the Republic Day Parade!! No cable! I luvv watching the parade and I don’t think I’ve missed watching it in the past years…I felt worse for Vedant (my son!) coz he was realllyyyy looking forward to watching it. He’d been asking me about the parade for the past one week. Well…we didn’t have cable the entire day…first the net went off, and then the cable…it seems like some kind of weird conspiracy!
The wedding (we were at one last nite) was nice…it was a Nikaah ceremony and the first I’d ever been to. I had a nice time and we got home really late…my mama was to be there at the wedding but his train was late by like 12 hours (The Rajdhani!) coz of the Naxal bombings in Bihar. And he landed up at the wedding venue after the whole ceremony was done and over with. He’s came back home with us and will leave today. In a previous post I mentioned my mom’s ancestral home (my mama's place)…well, mamu told me last night that he’s been renovating the place and planning to promote it as a kind of tourist get away. It got me very excited and I really hope he gets to fulfill this dream project and I for one am definitely planning a trip there this year…he mentioned that besides doing up the old buildings…he’s planted 1000 teak trees and mango trees…I think that’s wonderful! And yep…banana trees too. Told me that the elephants come right up to the banana plantations…wow! Sooo my next trip will surely be to my mama’s place and I can’t wait to start planning that ASAP!
I was bored on 25th…bored and upset about sum stuff so wrote the following post to get myself into a better frame of mind…couldn’t post it then coz no net %$#@!!!!! Anyway just posting it now…nuthin special…my usual ramblings… (Again!)…
25th January 2005 "Salaam Namaste"
I got done with the last post “The Perfect Lover Tag” yesterday and if u missed commenting on that, please skip this and get done with that first!! I wasn’t planning on writing anything more this week. Tomorrow being the 26th, Rajiv and Vedant will be home and there’s a wedding we have to go. Today’s the Mehendi but I doubt if we can make it to that. Well, I can’t get online today coz my net’s gone…I called my service provider & told him “nahi chal raha net”…he gives me his standard reply “connector check karo!”…ufff…anyway, turns out there’s sum major problem somewhere and he calls back to give me the realllyyyy good news “raat tak dekhte hai…kal pukka chalega!”…damn…
Anyway, I was feeling lousy for other reasons too but then trying to take up on some good advice I thot of lazing around and just rest before I made the final decision of whether to go or not go for the Mehendi tonight. Vedant was with Woody wood pecker on Pogo and I wanted to watch a movie….any movie…so I went upstairs to put on a cd. “Salaam Namaste” caught my eye coz though we got this cd ages back…it still lay there in its original packing…plastic cover n all! I’d dragged Rajiv with me to watch this movie in the theatre…caught the 10:30 show…I quite enjoyed it.
My fav bit is of course when Preity Zinta has that craving for chocolate ice cream!! I see myself in that scene coz I was just as crazy when I was pregnant with Vedant…I’d crave for the “All American banana Split” from Nirulas and….sometimes it wld be simplyyyyyy insane….I’d be like…I WANT IT RIGHT NOW!!!....poor Rajiv wld be like okkk…relaxxxx…will u! I’m like nooo abhi chahiye:-)!! I rem him driving me down to the nirulas...and talking to my maa in law…”u sure this is normal mamma?”…lolzz…and I could hear her on the other end, “usse jo chahiye do beta…don’t refuse anything!!”…lollzz…she’s sweet…
And there at Nirulas I’d be sitting impatiently waiting for the guy to make the sundae…and I’d never share it…NEVER!...aahhh:-) the satisfaction I got…just savoring each spoonful of ice cream…mmmmmmmmm!!:-) Sooo when I see Preity Zinta with that expression on her face…I knowww!! I know exactly what it feels like!
The flip side is her dancing in her 7-8 odd months pregnant state all over the place…now that I just can’t digest…esp. looking at her huge tummy! I was pretty huge too at that stage of my pregnancy … to quote my doc “I’ve never seen a first time mom put on weight like this! No way is this baby going to be a normal delivery!”…he he he!!!….welll, I couldn’t dream of dancing around…I couldn’t even see my feet when I looked down…lolzz…
Welll…there’s no purpose to this post….just sum pleasant memories surfaced into my mind while watching the movie and nothing seems to make me relax more than writing now:-)
Okkk…enough for now!! I have important things to worry about…like which sari to wear tomorrow…and which Jewellery to match with it!! (But honestly…wish I could go in my jeans!!)…be back later…tata…

Ps: Btw I gained 20 Kgs when I was pregnant! Now I lost all that over the past 2 years…so don’t let your mind visualize me in that state! I make a perfect candidate for “Before – after – and then – AFTER!”….if that makes any sense…I cld send my pics to VLCC or Personal Point…earn sum royalty!
I looked n looked for a pic of Pregnant Preity having the ice cream...but no luck :-(
